Welsh speakers wish to receive services through the medium of Welsh according to research by Consumer Focus Wales - Gwasaniaithau, Consumers and the Welsh Language (PDF) - but there are obstacles that prevent them from doing so. The survey shows that 80% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that they should have the right to access all services through the medium of Welsh.Rhys Llwyd, vice-chair of Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg, said:"This report highlights many of the concerns we have as a society about the draft law - the individual and their rights have been totally ignored. It gives rights to big companies, but not to people."Where's the sense in that? The government promised a rights-based approach, but have refused to deliver it. That failure means that the enormous barriers to using the language will remain."
