Welsh language campaign group, Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg, have presented an award to insurance Caernarfon-based company Tarian Cyf for offering an exceptional Welsh language service to the public.The "Gwobr Caru'r Gymraeg - Love Welsh award", part of the language campaign group's new initiative, was presented to the company officers as thanks to the company for providing a high standard of service.Presenting the award, Osian Jones, regional organiser for Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg, said:"This is an exciting initiative and it's part of our plan as a society to take more positive steps to promote the use of Welsh in the community. While there are many companies who ignore Welsh, especially big international businesses, it's important that the small local companies who do think about the local community are rewarded.""A few weeks ago Tarian Cyf launched a new website to sell insurance, the website is completely bilingual, and shows what can be delivered when firms show respect for the language.""Tarian Cyf sees the business sense in offering a comprehensive Welsh language services, it's a pity that big international companies don't do the same.
