Let the Full Council decide on future of Village Schools

Ahead of today's meeting of Ceredigion Council's Cabinet to discuss changing the process for reviewing the future of village schools, Cymdeithas yr Iaith have called for the decision to be made by the Full Council.Cymdeithas yr Iaith condemn as negative the whole concept of singling out individual schools for review and favour instead positively reviewing all schools area by area to see how they can be positively developed. Cymdeithas also insist that any review should be carried out with the local community rather than behind closed doors in Council Buildings.Angharad Clwyd, Dyfed Organiser for Cymdeithas yr Iaith said:"If this elite Review Panel wishes to take a massive decision to reccommend that a community should be deprived of its schools, then let them have the guts to hold all those hearings in the local community rather than summoning representatives to the offices."
