Language campaigners have welcomed the actions of Heritage Minister to protect Welsh language broadcasting.Rhys Llwyd, Vice-Chair of language campaign group Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg said:"Alun Ffred Jones deserves praise for standing up against the dirty deal cooked up in London by the BBC and the Government. We welcome his idea to establish a forum to protect the language; we look forward to working with him to save the only Welsh television channel in the world. It won't be possible to improve Welsh language broadcasting and create a new successful model, if the BBC gobbles up S4C."The society will discuss the S4C situation in an open meeting on 30th October in Aberystwyth and are holding a rally "No to cuts, Yes to a new S4C" on Saturday 6th November at 11am in Cathays Park, Cardiff.
