Members and supporters of Cymdeithas yr Iaith intend to push a giant Post-Box 75 miles across the county of Gwynedd in the battle for Welsh-medium Village Schools. As part of the March during half-term week, they will be visiting schools which are threatened by closure by the Council’s Re-Organisation plans and inviting people in the local communities and on the road to post their opposition to the County Council. The march will include a series of Public Meetings and concerts to further the campaign.

We are taking them at their word and are appealing to people to take this opportunity to bombard the Council with their opposition to the plans. We are confident that we shall need this large post-box because we intend to collect hundreds of messages of opposition and we shall be delivering the Post personally to the Council Offices."He added:"We shall be starting the march outside Ysgol y Parc in Penllyn on Monday afternoon the 11th February and will reach the Council Offices by 1pm on Friday the 15th. It is disgraceful that the Council are rushing to reach a final decision on the fate of Parc and six other schools between May and July this year before they have even considered the responses to their countywide strategy at the end of the summer. We call on everyone to support these schools that are first in the firing line. Their battle is a battle for everyone."
