Gwenno back in Aberystwyth after being released from jail

Gwenno TeifiUp to a 100 supporters were at Aberystwyth Train Station at 3pm today, to welcome Gwenno Teifi back to Wales, after a Spell in a Gloucestershire jail.

Earlier in the day, the 19 year old member of Cymdeithas yr Iaith was released from Eastwood Park Women's Prison, having served 3 days of the 5 days sentence given to her on Monday by Carmarthen Magistartes for refusing to pay costs and compensation to Radio Carmarthenshire.In court, Gwenno called for a New Welsh language Act which would – among other things – ensure that local radio stations presented plans for a Welsh language service.Among the people present to welcome Gwenno back were 30 fellow students from Aberystwyth and Bangor who are fasting until Gwenno's release as a sign of solidarity with her and to signal their commitment to take part in the campaign for a New Welsh language Act.
