No Excuses this time say Cymdeithas

bawd_deddf_eiddo.jpg Cymdeithas yr Iaith have reminded Carmarthenshire County Council's Planning Committee that they will be discussing the proposed housing development at Waungilwen, Drefach Velindre with a clean sheet. Cymdeithas appealed to the committee meeting that will be held on Thursday the 27th of September at 10.30am at the Council offices, to make sure that the planning process sustains a viable community rather than being used as a license to print money for developers.

Angharad Clwyd, Dyfed field officer for Cymdeithas yr Iaith said:"Often Councillors and planning officers feel that their hands are tied by previous planning permissions granted and by their own county wide plans. In this case however the planning committee is starting with a clean sheet of paper in that they are considering anapplication for outline planning permission which is a first stage in a process. It is understood also that the proposed housing development would be far in excess of what was permissible in the county's own Uintary Development Plan. There's united opposition in the local community and we expect the Council to stand with them."
