Gwenno TeifiAberystwyth Railway Station will be the scene of a noisy and colourful homecoming meeting for Prisoner Gwenno Teifi at 3pm tomorrow (Wednesday 15/02). Earlier in the day, the 19 year old member of Cymdeithas yr Iaith is being released from Eastwood Park Women's Prison, Gloucester having served 3 days of the 5 days sentence given to her on Monday by Carmarthen Magistartes for refusing to pay costs and compensation to Radio Carmarthenshire.

Prisoners serving a sentence of 5 days receive 2 days remission for "good behaviour".In court, Gwenno called for a New Welsh language Act which would – among other things – ensure that local radio stations presented plans for a Welsh language service.Among the people present to welcome Gwenno back on the 3.10pm will be 30 fellow students from Aberystwyth and Bangor who are fasting until Gwenno's release as a sign of solidarity with her and to signal their commitment take part in the campaign for a New Welsh language Act.
