Newidiadau addysg yn Sir Benfro

Wrth ymateb i benderfyniad Cyngor Sir Benfro ddoe i dderbyn argymhellion ynglŷn â newidiadau i addysg yng ngogledd a de orllewin y sir, dywedodd Bethan Wiilliams, swyddog maes Dyfed Cymdeithas yr Iaith:

“Rydyn ni'n falch bod y Cyngor Sir wedi cymeryd sylwadau rhieni a disgyblion i ystyriaeth yn ystod yr ymgynghoriad ac yn fodlon ystyried y sylwadau hynny ymhellach; ond eto rydyn ni'n awyddus i weld y cynlluniau yn symud yn eu blaen ac yn chwilio am eglurder ar ambell fater. Er enghraifft – does dim categori iaith wedi ei nodi ar gyfer ysgolion Dewi Sant, Bro Ddewi na Solfach petai'r tair yn cael eu huno i greu ysgol 3-16. Gallai hynny olygu mai Saesneg fyddai cyfrwng addysg ôl 11, sydd yn broblem gan fod ysgolion cynradd Cymraeg fel Croesgoch yn bwydo Ysgol Dewi Sant ar hyn o bryd.
“Mae Cymdeithas yr Iaith eisiau gweld pob ysgol yn cael ei symud ar hyd yn continwwm ieithyddol, yn raddol, tuag at ddod yn ysgolion Cymraeg. Mae cyfle yma i wneud hynny – a byddwn yn codi hynny eto yng ngham nesaf ymgynghoriad y cyngor.”

Argymhellion y cytunwyd iddynt:
