Cred Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg bod llymder yn bolisi ideolegol sydd ddim yn gwneud synnwyr economaidd, ac, yn bwysicach, ei fod yn hynod o niweidiol i'n cymunedau a'r Gymraeg ac yn gorfodi pobl fregus a llai pwerus i dalu am gamgymeriadau'r cyfoethog.

Cytunwn ein bod yn ymwrthod â'r toriadau a'r egwyddorion tu ôl iddynt.

Cytunwn ymhellach y bydd pob rhan o'n mudiad yn ymwrthod ag agenda toriadau a llymder gan achub ar bob cyfle i ddatgan y safbwynt egwyddorol hwnnw wrth ymateb i ymgynghoriadau, mewn digwyddiadau, ac wrth wneud sylwadau cyhoeddus eraill.

Cytunwn felly y byddwn, drwy ein hymgyrchoedd presennol a mewn ffyrdd eraill, yn cyd-weithio ag ystod eang o fudiadau ac unigolion er mwyn:

* galw ar gynrychiolwyr etholedig ar bob lefel i wneud popeth o fewn eu pwerau i atal ac i wrth-droi toriadau; gan gwestiynu sail unrhyw ymgynghori ynglŷn â thoriadau yn ogystal;

* hybu agenda cyfiawnder treth, a'r angen i herio grym cwmnïau mawrion;

* brwydro yn erbyn rhagor o doriadau i wasanaethau cyhoeddus, gan gynnwys defnyddio dulliau di-drais o ymgyrchu lle bo'n briodol.

Austerity - Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg's View

Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg believes that austerity is an ideological policy which does not make economic sense, and, more importantly, is extremely damaging to our communities and the Welsh language by forcing the vulnerable and less powerful to pay for the mistakes of the rich. 

We agree that we reject the cuts and the principles behind them.

We further agree that every part of our organisation will reject the cuts and austerity agenda and take every opportunity to state that principled view when responding to consultations, in events and when making other public comments. 

We agree therefore that we will, through our present campaigns and in other ways, co-operate with a wide variety of groups and individuals in order to: 

* call on elected representatives at every level to do everything within their powers to halt and reverse cuts; questioning the basis of any consultation regarding cuts as well;

* promote the agenda of tax justice, and the need to challenge the power of large companies;

* fight against more cuts to public services, including, where appropriate, using non-violent methods of campaigning
