Over 200 people attended a Rally organised by Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg on Queen Street Cardiff today, supporting the call for a New Welsh language Act.
Catrin Dafydd (Cymdeithas yr Iaith) and Steffan Webb (Mentrau Iaith Cymru) addressed the crowd, and both supported the need for a New Welsh Language Act.The Rally was a great success, and many store Managers agreed to meet a delegation from Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg, to discuss their Welsh language policy, and the need for more services through the medium of Welsh.*Notes*A consultation regarding the need for a new Welsh Language Act on the 24th of January in the Millennium Centre in Cardiff at 7 o’clock. Solicitor and language expert Emyr Lewis will chair the meeting. Colin Williams, who is a member of the Welsh Language Board and an international language expert and John Elfed Jones, the first chairman of the Welsh Language Board will also address the meeting.
