Pont-Tyweli community wins another battle

bawd_deddf_eiddo.jpgLocal campaigners in the village of Pont-Tyweli have won another battle today in their fight to oppose the development of 31 4 bedroomed houses in their village. The decision was postponed in the planning committee meeting today, while they wait for a confirmation on whether the extant planning permission to build 31 houses given in 1990 is still valid.

Angharad Clwyd, Dyfed Organiser for Cymdeithas yr Iaith said:"The local community together with Cymdeithas yr Iaith will continue to fight this damaging development. We will ask the planning committee to refuse this development in the next meeting and request that the developers re-submit an application for a reasonable number of houses that are affordable to the local community. We hope that our success will boost other communities which face similar threats, and any community is welcome to contact Cymdeithas yr Iaith if a their community is threatened by an unreasonable housing development."
