Camarthenshire council chief executive resigns - "Make this the end of an era"

Reacting to the announcement that Mark James intends to leave his role  as Chief Executive Officer of Carmarthenshire County Council,  Cymdeithas yr Iaith have sent a message to the leaders of the three  political groups of councillors asking that this be "the end of an era".

In her message to the leaders of the Labour, Plaid Cymru and  Independent Groups, Cymdeithas Chair in Carmarthenshire Sioned Elin says: "We have no desire to judge individuals but we feel that the system has failed Carmarthenshire. Let this be the end of an era, and let us no longer employ head-hunters to bring in people to run the County as if it were a branch o M & S. We ask that councillors appoint in the future officers who understand and have a loyalty to local people and who are able to carry out their work  in both Welsh and English"
