Language campaigners have urged Gwynedd councillors to reject plans to close Ysgol y Parc ahead of a meeting of the council's board today.

Welsh language campaigners have welcomed the comments of Lord Geoffrey Howe - Deputy Prime Minister, Chancellor and Foreign Secretary under Thatcher - who has spoken against the Government's plans for over 40% cuts to S4C and a BBC takeover of the channel.Lord Howe was speaking in the debate on the Public Bodies Bill today which would allow the plans to go through.
